For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and concerning the houses of the king of Judah that are torn down into palisades and ramparts
for fighting against the Chaldeans and to fill it with the dead of the men whom I struck in my anger and in my wrath, and I turned away my face from them because of all their wickednesses
and I will cleanse them from all their iniquities by which they sinned against me, and I will by no means remember their sins by which they sinned against me, and they turned away from me
And it will be for joy and for praise and for greatness to all the people of the land who will hear all the good things that I will do, and they will fear and be embittered concerning all the good things and concerning all the peace that I will do for them.
Thus says the Lord: There shall yet be heard in this place, which you say is desolate, without man and without beast, in the cities of Judah and outside Jerusalem, the ones laid waste, because there is no man and beast.
the voice of gladness and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those saying, Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good, for his mercy is forever, and they shall bring in gifts to the house of the Lord, for I will restore all the captivity of that land as before, says the Lord
Thus said the Lord of hosts: Yet there shall be in this place, in this desolate place, because there is no man and beast, and in all its cities, resting places of shepherds lying down with sheep.
in the cities of the hill country and in the cities of the Shephelah and in the cities of the Negeb and in the land of Benjamin and in the places around Jerusalem and in the cities of Judah, sheep will still pass under the hand of one who counts, says the Lord
