For behold, you are pregnant and will bear a son, and no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite of God from the womb, and he himself shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

And the woman came in and said to her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of an angel of God, very terrifying, and I did not ask him where he is from, and he did not tell me his name.

And he said to me, behold, you are pregnant and will bear a son; and now do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean, because the child will be holy to God from the womb until the day of his death.

And Manoe prayed to the Lord and said, By me, Lord Adonai, let the man of God whom you sent come now again to us and instruct us what we shall do for the child being born.

From everything that comes out of the vine of wine he shall not eat, and wine and strong drink, let him not drink, and let him not eat anything unclean; all that I have commanded her she shall keep.

And the angel of the Lord said to Manoe, If you restrain me, I will not eat from your loaves, and if you make a burnt offering to the Lord, you shall offer it up; for Manoe did not know that he was an angel of the Lord.

And it came to pass, at the flame’s ascending above the altar unto the heaven, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar; and Manoe and his wife, watching, fell on their faces to the ground.

And his wife said to him, If the Lord had wanted to put us to death, he would not have taken a whole burnt offering and a sacrifice from our hand, and he would not have shown us all these things, and, according to the time, he would not have made these things heard to us.
