A disclosure was uncovered in Israel, when a people volunteered; bless the Lord.
Hear, O kings, and give ear, O satraps; I am for the Lord, I am, I will sing; I will psalm to the Lord, the God of Israel
Lord, in your going out from Seir, in your setting out from the field of Edom, the earth was shaken, and the heavens dripped dew, and the clouds dripped water.
The mountains quaked at the presence of the Lord, Eloi, this Sinai, at the presence of the Lord God of Israel
In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the roads vanished, and they went on by paths; they went on twisted roads.
The mighty ones failed in Israel, they failed until Deborah arose, until a mother arose in Israel
They chose new gods; then they waged war in the cities of rulers. A shield, if it is seen, and a spear among forty thousands in Israel.
My heart is for the things appointed for Israel. The volunteers among the people, bless the Lord.
riding on a female donkey, sitting at noon on judgment seat, and walking on the roads of those who sit in council, on the way
At the voice of those striking up, between those drawing water, there they will give righteous deeds to the Lord, righteous deeds increase in Israel. Then the people of the Lord came down to the cities.
Awake, awake, Deborah; awake, awake, speak a song. Arise, Barak, and take captive your captivity, son of Abineeam.
Then a remnant went down to the mighty; the people of the Lord went down with him among the powerful.
Out of me, Ephraim rooted them out in Amalek; after you, Benjamin, among your peoples; from me, Machir came down searching out, and from Zebulun drawing with the staff of a scribe’s record
And leaders in Issachar were with Deborah and Barak; thus Barak sent into the valleys on foot to the divisions of Reuben—great ones reaching in heart.
Why did they sit between the sheepfolds, to hear the whistling of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
Gilead beyond the Jordan dwelt in tents, and Dan, why does he stay among the ships? Asher sat on the seashore, and by his outlets he will encamp.
Zebulun, a people, reproached his life unto death, and Naphtali on the heights of the field
Kings came, they arrayed themselves in battle, then the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the water of Megiddo; they took no gain of silver.
From heaven the stars took their stand; from their paths they took their stand with Sisera.
The torrent Kishon swept them away, the torrent of the ancient torrents, the torrent Kishon; my soul will trample him, mighty one.
Then the heels of a horse were made to stumble; in haste his mighty ones rushed away
Curse Meroz, said the angel of the Lord; curse, cursed is everyone who dwells in it, because they did not come to the help of the Lord, to the help among the mighty.
Blessed among women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite; among women in tents blessed be she.
He asked for water; she gave milk. In a bowl of the rich she brought butter.
She stretched out her left hand to the peg, and her right to the hammer of the laborers, and she hammered Sisera, she pierced his head, and she struck, she pierced his temple
Between her feet he sank, he fell and slept; between her feet he sank down, he fell; where he sank down there he fell, destroyed.
Through the window the mother of Sisara looked out, outside through the lattice, because his chariot had been shamed, because the feet of his chariots had delayed.
Her wise ladies answered her, and she returned her words to herself.
Will they not find him dividing the spoil? A merciful one will show mercy, to the head of a man, the spoil of dyed garments for Sisera, the spoil of dyed garments of embroidery, dyed embroidered garments for his neck, spoil.
So may all your enemies perish, O Lord, and those who love him be as the sun’s rising in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
